The Port of Los Angeles has other names. It is also called Los Angeles Harbor and WORLDPORT LA. The Port of Los Angeles covers about 7.5 thousand acres of land and 69 kilometers (43 miles) of waterfront. About 32 kilometers (20 miles) south of downtown LA, the Port of Los Angeles is in the San Pedro neighborhood on San Pedro Bay. The Port of Los Angeles abuts the Port of Long Beach.

The Port of Los Angeles welcomed 147 cruise ship calls and almost 732 thousand passengers in 2010.

Its top import was lumber, and its top export was oil. Its top trading partner was the Pacific Northwest region of North America. By its centennial in 2007, the Port of Los Angeles handled 189.6 million metric tons of cargo. Its top import was furniture, its top export was paper products, and its top trading partner was China.
