Description
Commerce. Labor. Container ships. The Waterfront. Longshoremen. It is the way of life for many here in San Pedro, California. Easing down the channel and slipping past the U.S.S. Iowa to its port side, this massive container ship carries the stuff that makes our economy continue to tick. The heartbeat of the "supply chain" ( that notable term bantered about during the height of the pandemic ) , can be seen from my windows as the cargo arrives around the clock.

Really liking the colors that are seen reflecting onto the water. I used the close up feature to look at the container ship and amazed at how these consumer goods are transported.

Geez, this thing is wider than the river that flows behind my house...terrific perspective and wonderful understated colors

Nice shot. "We got to install microwave ovens, Custom kitchen deliveries; We got to move these refrigerators, We got to move these color TVs" Dire Straits. I recently read "Deep Sea And Foreign Going" by Rose George - a very good look at life on a modern container ship.
