Description
Curiosity can in fact kill the cat. Or at least teach him or her to swim. A surreal black and white image of companion color shot in the Wedge Collection. A day of heavy surf at the one-and-only Wedge in California can bring the curious to the edge of 4 to 5 ft. drop-offs where the surf has eroded the beach sand. The experienced and the hardy will body surf monster waves as the curious like me gather on the shore to photograph them...and the daring kids you see here.

Thanks for that Brian! That is what I was trying to create with the processing.

It's been years since I've been to the wedge. Went down on lunch break from work due to some even higher than normal Surf. Great image l/f

The painterly finish makes it seem the wave is reaching out it's tentacles toward the couple...superbly creative

Haha...as someone who grew up in Newport, the title made me laugh...I love it, Joe! I'll take a hard pass on swimming at the wedge but I love this work!

You can't fool me Joe, those two are entering The Twilight Zone! :-) Amazing presentation in b&w, that lends to the eeriness of your composition! LOVE this!
