Description
Located at the Goldwell Open Air Museum in Rhyolite Nevada is “Transcendent Ghost” by artist Hugo Heredia. Installed in 2022, this kinetic structure is a green wooden frame that expands and contracts, evoking movement within the otherwise stark desert landscape.
“Heredia’s piece is designed to respond to environmental conditions, like wind and sunlight, enhancing its dynamic qualities. It represents an exploration of the boundaries between the natural and man-made, fitting with Goldwell’s mission to blend art with the unique desert setting.”

This is utterly mesmerizing. Although I am standing on the ground it seems like I am falling through space. Excellent composition, Joe!
