Description
Moments after sunrise, shadows are cast across the expanse of the Mesquite Dunes. Located within Death Valley National Park, the dunes are named after the predominant native vegetation. Taken in late March 2011, the foreground reveals dried silt and clay deposits, common after a good winter of rain.
