Description
The three of us. We are the sentries of this ancient lakebed in Death Valley, CA. Known as "The Racetrack", this playa receives very little precipitation, even for Death Valley standards. When it does rain though, and if the wind is sufficiently strong, the famous sliding rocks leave their trails behind them.

I LOVE this type of landscape! Harsh hard ground with a whispy gentle sky. Great tonal range and composition. Fascinating side bar information.

Joe - this is really cool...love the shapes of the cracks in the dirt. Love the mountains in the background - creates great depth...where's my land sail (or whatever they're called)?

SO cool Joe. Such a barren image, but so much interest... well conceived and presented...:-)
