Description
A vast observation of the city of Sevilla, Spain from the vantage point of the bell tower at La Geralda. Alive with tourism, deep history and majestic architecture, Sevilla is a major destination not to be missed in España.
Of course, I invariably defer to eating. Many Spanish regions individually claim to be the birthplace of Tapas, arguably Seville holds the strongest claim. Derived from the Spanish term ‘to cover’ or ‘top’, the cuisine originated with thin slices of bread and meat that Andalusian sherry drinkers used to cover their glasses between sips. It developed in to a variety of snacks to complement the sherry until eventually the food became more important than the sherry.

Very nice view, appreciated your description as will be travelling to Portugal early next year and will visit Spain as well. Looking very forward to the cuisine!

Love to visit these far away locales through your images Joe...not much different to see around Loves Mill unless someone buys a new tractor or bull

Nice shot. We did not go up the Giralda, but got a good view from the top of Las Setas (The Mushrooms) - ooh, off-topic soundtrack Mushroom Head by Can!
