Description
Teakettle Junction marks the 21st mile on the Racetrack road. Several miles further the road bears to the left and a grand vista of Racetrack Playa may be seen - the dry lakebed home of the infamous sliding rocks. it is also the place where you can turn off to make your way up to Lost Burro Mine and explore some of the neighboring mountains. Four wheel drive is the preferred mode of travel, although I have seen a Prius at the Racetrack. for the truly adventurous, there is Lippincott Mine Rd.
