Artist's Description

When cilantro (Coriandrum sativum) bolts and produces flowers, the flowers are quite small. Typically, each individual flower is about 2 to 4 millimeters (mm) across — roughly the size of a pinhead. As a resident in the southwest, cilantro always has a place in the backyard, and in the kitchen.
This macro shot was taken with an OM-1, utilizing bracket focusing.

They are white or very pale pink in color and grow in loose, flat-topped clusters called umbels, which can be 2 to 5 centimeters (cm) across in total. These delicate blooms are attractive to beneficial insects like parasitic wasps and hoverflies.

A.I. describes the image thus: Delicate white flowers with pink-tipped stamens cluster together, creating a soft, natural composition. Each petal complements the intricate details of the blossoms, set against a dark background that enhances the flower's elegance.

Life, family and a career as a teacher and psychologist intervened, not to mention a few more film cameras. Eventually, there was digital. Liberation! Photography is the creative medium that has allowed me to share personal ...
