These huge, beefsteak-type red-and yellow fruits with a high sugar content are delicious and pretty to slice because of the bi-coloring. Although it is called Mr. Stripey, don't expect perfect stripes. This is an heirloom and no two tomatoes are ever the same. The background color of the tomato is yellow to light orange and the red often appears in little spots that align themselves in a stripes radiating from the stem end of the fruit. Indeterminate vines produce through the season. Popular in the mid-South and beyond.

Please post a "laugh yourself silly" warning on this image. I was not expecting this. So fun!

This goes on my Favorites List, Joe. After reading your straight-faced, informative description, I came away with even more appreciation for you as a photographer. It may be one of your least favorites, but it's one of this gal's all-time favorites on FAA.

Congratulations, Joe, on your contest win. I didn't even bother to vote for mine (it was that bad), but now I like it--though not nearly as much as this beauty. Even the green part of the stem looks like its "arms" are crossed as if to shield its face. Could not be more perfect, and sure put a smile on my face this morning. Wonderful work!
